The freshmen were given loads of time in order to be introduced to all kinds of different and important organisations saving the best for last. On the 15th of September was the information-hour (more like a whole evening until the sunrise) of the Student Council of the Mechanical Faculty „MehÜN“ held. Many first year students, as well as some of the older ones, were there to listen to an overview of our doings. There was no time for explaining everything, because lately we have had our hands full of miscellaneous imortant and/or fun (well, always fun) activities. Also there was present the project manager of Robotex Katrin Kask, who made a quick presentation about the event. Since Robotex gets help from MehÜN ( the organizing team has usually had many members of MehÜN in it), the listeners hopefully got a good overview of how big events they could actiually be associated with.
There is already a custom to form some work-groups to discuss different topics closely related to MehÜN and student-life, this time it was no different. We got many new ideas: just some time later we finally got our own Facebook page started (who still hasn’t liked it then what in the world are you still waiting for?!). The work-groups got time to introduce their ideas in the castle of Glehn, but since we are not so rich yet, we could only reward the one we found to be the best: symbolics. There will only be some time before we can go to the beach wearing the woollen socks of MehÜN, in wintertime we can also put on our own bathing suits.
As typical Estonians it takes time to get the party going, but when it is on, then just try to stop it. Strangers in the beginning of the evening were already well acquainted by the end of the night, when everybody acted to their conscience: some went home in order to get some rest before classes on Friday, others just kept celebrating!
We would like to thank Marmiton for not letting us starve and also a big „Thank you“ to Red Bull who oversupplied us with energy on the 1st September, so we still had some left for the current event.
In addition I just have to mention that we now have almost half a hundred members! YAY FOR US AND FOR OUR NEW BLOOD!
