From March 29 to Mai 2, the library hosts Tiia Eikholm's personal photo exhibition “The Exotic Northern Vietnam” on its 2nd floor.
The author of the photos, Tiia Eikholm, is a graduate of the Estonian Academy of Arts, where she studied leather art. She has worked as a designer and layout editor and is currently working at the Tallinn University of Technology Library. In addition to art, her hobbies include traveling and photography – and the latter two can be perfectly combined.
The photos presented at the current exhibition were taken during her trip to Northern Vietnam in the autumn of 2017. The visited places include the populous capital Hanoi, the northernmost Sa Pa District and its surrounding mountain villages with their tribes who live in ascetic conditions, the scenic Mai Chau valley, UNESCO World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay, and the mystical Tam Coc with its limestone outcrops.
Although the author has previously focused on the beauty and picturesqueness of nature, she now found that photographing the local people, their exotic looks and colourful lifestyle is a perfect addition to the beautiful landscape photos.
