A lot of people travel to America, but mostly to big cities, like New York and Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, Las Vegas and Washington, DC.
But there's much more in America!
Not many people have courage and willingness to go out into the wild, either by rental car or by mountain bike. Priit Pullerits has done that a lot, on his own and also with his family, and has therefore seen much more of America than most others. His presentation is meant to inspire you to wonder farther away from big cities and tourist traps, because the real wonders of America can be found there where only a few people are ready to go. The presentation is illustrated with photos and videos.
Priit Pullerits is editor at Postimees and lecturer of journalism at Tartu University. He fell in love with America while studying at the School of Journalism at Columbia University, New York, in 1990, and while working as a reporter at Newsweek Magazine in Washington, DC, in 1995. He has later traveled extensively in America with his family and alone, by car, on foot and by bike, mostly in the regions on East Coast and West Coast, altogether more than dozen times. His favorite region of America is Southwest, especially the states of Utah and Arizona, which have fascinated him with their exceptional beauty, remoteness, and solitude. He has accumulated a lot of experience how to make one's personal travels in America exciting and safe at the same time.
