2018-2021 MANTICUS APOLLO. Creation of a nation-wide comprehensive situation awareness capability for national defence.
A nation-level situation awareness (SA) system supports the decision-makers at the various locations and levels of the government, local authorities, and entrepreneurs, providing them with the information that enables them to improve the overall functioning of the country. The SA system relies on a concept of system of systems, and world experience obtained (individual, shared and distributed SA). The heterogeneity and number of information flows in such a SA system is enormous, hence there are no publicly known examples of nation-level SA systems. Detection and assessment of interdependencies between those information flows is even more challenging. This project supports directly defence related activities, but also the activities aimed to prevent and manage natural or other man-caused disasters, and/or transforming one into another.
2017-2019 SMENETE. Smart Environment Networking Technologies.
The goal of the current research project is to validate applicability of Thinnect patented mesh networking layer for Smart scalable Environment applications and to recommend changes to the networking layer based on these application requirements, to extend the Proactive Middleware that had been developed at TUT to offer the functionality required for Smart Environment applications and to develop functionality for in situ diagnostics of wireless network with cloud based support.
