Innovation Challenge filled up Mektory with exciting ideas
The Innovation Challenge took place at TalTech Mektory on October 20. It was powered by Sportradar, one of the world's largest sports data providers. In this challenge were 28 students, who competed for € 5,000.
Student team GaMo won the first place and €2,500 in the Innovation Challenge. The team members were Annett Saarik and Grete Pärtel who is studying at Tallinn University of Technology. Both members have previously completed the Business Ideas Development Program STARTER.
The winner team idea focused on the growing e-sports market. GaMo is a place, where players will get feedback on how the professional players will solve the same situation. Also, professional teams can recruit new team members there.
The second place and €1,500 went to Dermanşah Hazar Ersoy Yalın, Caner Pehlivan, Md Musa Howlader, and Emre Arslan. Their team BetBot idea was a betting chatbot. The third place and €1,000 were won by Jalal Sadigli and Putri Wimasagung whose team J&P presented the idea of a device to connect professional sports teams with their fans.
For the first time, the Innovation Challenge was in Tallinn. „We had a record number of participants and a lot of innovative ideas,“ stated the Head of Sportradar’s University and Research Program Dr. Malte Siegle. During the one day event, participants had a chance to network and collaborate with other entrepreneurial and innovative youth. Teams were challenged to apply their creativity to solve real-life problems and identify possible opportunities in the world of sports data. Mentors and industry experts were available to support with guidance and direction.
