About the department
Department of Computer Systems of the School of Information Technologies of Tallinn University of Technology covers the areas of design of dependable computing systems, including reliability, verification and testing of nanoelectronic systems, intelligent and control systems, virtual reality, and biorobotics.
Department of Computer Systems is one of the four departments of the School of Information Technologies, carrying the responsibility of educating future engineers and ICT specialists.
The department was established 01 January 2017 in the course of TTÜ structural reform based on the former Department of Computer Engineering, Alpha Control Lab of the Department of Computer Control, and Centre for Biorobotics.
The department is organized into four sections, covering the main research themes and teaching activities of the department:
- Centre for Dependable Computing Systems, led by Jaan Raik
- Centre for Intelligent Systems, led by Eduard Petlenkov
- Centre for Biorobotics, led by Maarja Kruusmaa
- Learning centre of Computer Systems, led by Peeter Ellervee
The department is led by Margus Kruus.
